Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for a Golden Visa, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Business Ownership and Management

Two Years Before Applying:

Ownership of up to two Australian businesses.

A direct and continuous management role in the business.

Submission of Business Activity Statements to the Australian Taxation Office.

An Australian Business Number for each main business.

24 Months Before Applying:

Ownership of one of the following:

51% of the total value of the company with an annual turnover under AUD 400,000.

30% of the total value of the company with an annual turnover exceeding AUD 400,000.

10% of the total value of the company operated by a publicly listed entity.

12 Months Before Applying:

Ownership of one of the following:

AUD 200,000 in net assets in the main Australian business.

AUD 600,000 in combined personal and business assets in Australia.

Employment of at least two full-time employees who are Australian citizens or permanent residents.

Application Process
The application process for the Skilled Independent Visa involves five key steps:

Step 1: Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)

Use the Australian Government's online system, SkillSelect, to submit your EOI.

Include all required information, such as English test results and skills assessments.

Update your EOI if your circumstances change before receiving an invitation.

Step 2: Wait for an Invitation to Apply

After submitting your EOI, you will need to wait to be invited to apply for the visa.

Step 3: Complete the Online Visa Application

Upon receiving an invitation, submit your visa application within 60 days through the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) portal.

Step 4: Pay the Visa Fees

Visa costs for the Skilled Independent Visa differ between main applicant and additional dependents.

Step 5: Monitor Application Status

Track the progress of your application through the DHA system and provide additional documents if requested.

Investment and Other Requirements
Applicants must:

Invest AUD 2.5 million (if invited after the specified date) or AUD 1.5 million (if invited before the specified date), maintained for at least four years.

Be nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency or Austrade.

Achieve at least 65 points on the points test.
-
Have a net worth of at least AUD 2.5 million.

Pass health checks and provide police certificates to meet character requirements.

Reside in Australia for at least 40 days per year for four years while holding the temporary visa.

Demonstrate functional English proficiency with an IELTS certificate.

Maintain health insurance with benefits of at least AUD 1 million per person annually.

Have no outstanding debt to the Australian government.

Not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused.
Route to Permanent Residence
The Golden Visa application process involves six key stages:

Stage 1: Expression of Interest (EOI)

Submit an EOI through the SkillSelect system to express your interest in living and investing in Australia.

Stage 2: State or Territory Nomination

Obtain a nomination from an Australian state or territory government agency or Austrade. This is a mandatory step before applying for the visa.

Collect all necessary documentation, including proof of identity, investment details, and other relevant materials.

Stage 4: Apply for the Visa

Submit your visa application along with all required documents.

Stage 5: Receive a Provisional Visa

Stage 6: Apply for Permanent Residence
